In Churchspeak, Youth Apostles is a "mixed association of the Christian faithful." For the rest of us, this means Youth Apostles isn't quite a religious order. But we're also more than a non-profit organization. We're a religious community of priests and lay people who share a common vision of working with young people to help them mature in faith and become--in the words of St. John Bosco--"good Christians and useful citizens." All this to say that we depend on our friends and ourselves to sustain and deepen our common life and ministry. Foremost, we ask that you remember us in your prayer, asking God to bless us with fidelity to his bride, the Church, and to our vocation as youth ministers. To receive a hard copy of our bimonthly newsletter, The Apostle, please send your name, mailing address, and--if you wish--your phone and email information to the editor, John Nagy. We are always in need of vehicles in good condition to help our consecrated brothers--both priests and laymen--get around to their work, ministry assignments, or schooling. We also keep a running wish list of items we need to help us maintain our YA Community House and Retreat Center in McLean. If you would like to make a donation to our community, please contact our administrator, Brian Abrams, at the YA Center, 703-556-0914. |
